The
former territory of the Brisith Colony , known as Hong
Kong, includes a large quantity of various islands.
Hong Kong
island only represents 7% of the total land area of Hong
Kong.
Our hotel, was located on Kowloon - the cheaper and highly crowded
quarter at the end of the
peninsula. Hong Kong appears like a dynamic vibrant city which nevers sleeps (street were just as crowded at 3 am). However there is a big contrast between Hong Kong island or Kowloon, were people really live in a very limited space, and some nearby green and nearly undevelopped island like Lamma which offer a peaceful alternative to the hyperactivity of the rest of the territories. The weather was really overcast, so we didn't even try to go on top of Vitoria's peak. |

Neil trying ot find its way in the crowded streets of Kowloon. Unfortunately, our mandarin lessons were only of very limited use there because they speak cantonese and they use traditional characters (whereas we learn simplified ones)... |
